Founded in 2024 by Jamie Brooker, Jack + Mae was created to make it easy for families to share love, encouragement, and school spirit from anywhere. Through thoughtful care packages, gifts, and concierge services, we're proud to help make every Yellow Jacket feel a little closer to home.

Jamie is married to John Brooker (IE '94), and together they have two children, Jack and Katherine "Mae" (ID '28). Their home is once again filled with puppy paws thanks to Mikie, their Hero Rescue adoption, while Pete—lovingly remembered as "the favorite child"—will forever be part of the Jack + Mae story.

At Jack + Mae, we believe every Yellow Jacket deserves to feel celebrated. As we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday, we're kicking off Helluva History with Jack + Mae by remembering one of Georgia's signers of the Declaration of Independence AND the story behind a familiar name on campus.

Today's story begins with...Lyman Hall.

Many Yellow Jackets recognize Lyman Hall as one of Georgia Tech's buildings, but did you know there were actually two remarkable men by that name?

One was Georgia Tech's second president, whose leadership helped guide the Institute during its early years and whose legacy lives on through the campus building that bears his name.

The other was Dr. Lyman Hall, one of Georgia's three signers of the Declaration of Independence, a physician, Governor of Georgia, and a champion for education whose vision helped pave the way for higher learning in our state.

While the Georgia Tech building honors President Lyman Hall, it's a wonderful reminder that the name also carries a rich piece of American and Georgia history—especially fitting as we celebrate Independence Day.
